Focus on vision

variabel instelbare bril voor 3e wereld.
How it started....

On a visit to Tanzania in 2002, Frederik van Asbeck, a young Dutch student who is myopic, discovered that people with poor vision in Tanzania couldn’t get their sight problems checked and resolved, simply because there wasn’t any eye care service to speak of.

Back home, he decided he wanted to do something about it. As approximately 80% of the cases of poor vision can be helped with refractive correction (ie with glasses), he got involved in a project to develop adjustable glasses on the basis of the alvarez principle at the University. In the end, Frederik graduated on his thesis on adjustable glasses.
